The Compact Open Mobile Reference Architecure And Design

Welcome to the KOMRAD Project Wiki!

Summary

The KOMRAD project aims to create a reference design for mobile phones using Open Source Software, Open Hardware and Commercial Off The Shelf components. The reference design is a fully functional mobile phone which can be used for experimentation, development and manufacturing. Keeping true to the FOSS philosophy, the software and the firmware used is fully Open Source and no part of it is propreitary. The hardware schematics and layouts are also provided for free. A simulated environment is also provided to test out the functionality of the mobile phone. The simulator is based upon GNURadio.

The KOMRAD project is an initiative of Tantra Tele. Tantra Tele is a startup based in Bangalore, India and is currently invovled in building a prototype for the Reference Design.
