Mobile OS Task

Owners: Bhav, Abhimanyu, Rajiv.

15th Aug: Verified that the Iguana TTT program boots up on the target through the serial cable. Notes are at Iguana Notes.

12th July: Succeded in booting up L4/fiasco OS on the hard drive. We ported an Tic Tac Toe application on it. Currently working on porting ncurses library to it.

22nd June: Abhi found some compiler options that needed to be turned on for initializing the vga drive. The plan is to try it out this weekend.

11th June: Boot up on hard disk was unsuccessful. Looked like the display driver did not load properly. The next step is to try and use a serial cable. And try to do the same with Iguana.

5th June: Abhimanyu was successfully able to run the hello world program on the qemu simulator. So the next phase of stripping off the unneeded portion starts. Great Work!

28th May: Offloaded the OS part to Nataraj. Now I will be working on the MAC Layer of GSM!

23rd May: Tried building QEMU from sources and running it. Didnt work. Could be because of hte wrong gcc environment that I have. But giving up on QEMU. Will directly try to boot it from the boot dirve! Hope I dont fry anything. :-D

22nd May: Found out that its not the floppy drive which causes the crash but the Grub itself. I used the Grub version which came with my FC5 insall and it worked. The QEMU is still not working but. So the next step is to ask Google God about it. :).

21st May: We had a fruitful meetup today evening and discussed a lot of things. The minutes are here.

20th May: Found that the Grub core dumps because it looks for a floppy drive and i dont have installed on my system. So the next step is to get a floppy drive and install it. In the meantime code reading continues.

19th May: I have downloaded the Iguana OS Hello World example and i am trying to build it now. Have run into issues with build. The grub casues a segemntation fault whenever it tries to build the os image. Investigating right now.
